- Smart #1 BRABUS Rumored To Pack 422HP
Smart, the brand always associated to small compact city runabouts have pretty much evolved with Geely coming into picture as a 50% stake holder alongside Mercedes Benz. One of their first product offering would be the highly anticipated Smart #1. The best part of it is the iconic Mercedes tuner BRABUS's coming into picture to show their handiwork.
The Smart #1 BRABUS would receive a plethora of cosmetic updates all around with a substantial power upgrade according to CarNewsChina. It is claimed to deliver 422HP and 543Nm made possible by combining the existing 268HP/43Nm rear motor with a new 154HP/200Nm front motor. For now, this configuration is said to be unique for the Smart #1 BRABUS only. This combined motor power delivery is able to propel the Smart #1 BRABUS to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds compared to the base model which takes 5.9 seconds.

On the styling front, the Smart #1 BRABUS would feature a subtle yet aggressive look compared to its base model variant. It will come fitted with a larger rear spoiler, 19-inch alloys, a reworked front bumper incorporating additional vents throughout for the all-important drive motor cooling. Nowhere in the exterior will you notice the BRABUS branding present.
Step inside the Smart #1 BRABUS and you will be greeted to a dark themed interior finished in black, grey and red mirroring the exterior. The steering would be Alcantara wrapped with microfiber suede used as seat upholstery. The aluminium finished dash and steering wheel buttons features red LED lights matching the red seat belts and all driving pedals are made of metal to exert the performance feel further. This time you will find subtle BRABUS "B" insignia present on the headrest and steering wheel.
More details of the Smart #1 BRABUS would be available very soon as its set to be launched on August 26 at the 2022 Chengdu International Automobile Exhibition in China.
