- SUKE Jalan Cheras exit ramp set for review
Following reportedly negative comments and feedback by motorists, the exit ramp to Jalan Cheras of the new Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) is set for review by operators Prolintas.
The company has issued a statement regarding the matter and confirmed that it has appointed a consultant to review the design and convert said exit ramp, which leads down to the Cheras-Kajang Expressway (CKE, known as the Grand Saga Expressway) via the PGA/Medan Masria traffic light junctions, into two-lanes.

Despite the fanfare received with the recent opening of its first phase, a number of complaints were voiced by motorists stemming from the new traffic light junction and accompanying new road divider built for the SUKE at the PGA/Medan Masria junction. This has created a long traffic queue for those turning into Jalan Medan Masria specifically.
By converting the Jalan Cheras exit ramp into a two-lane road from its current single-wide layout, Prolintas says this will mitigate and shorten the queue period, thus allowing more vehicles to be released from said ramp at any time. The firm further adds that it’s also working with CKE operators Grand Saga to review the overall traffic lights configuration - including the one located near Maktab PDRM.
Adding to this, two “no right turn” sign boards will be planted about 200 metres from the junction to the CKE. This serves to curb motorist from making right turns there so as to avoid slowed traffic and backlog.
Apart from that, Prolintas also updated that the new 400-metre slip road spanning from the St Francis of Assisi Church to Jalan Medan Masria is 50% completed. The remaining 200-metre stretch is set for completion by the end of February 2023.
