- DASH Expressway Opens 14 October, Free For Public Use
Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) was officiated by the caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today and is set to open its gates to the public starting 12am tomorrow 14th October 2022. We did a detailed report of this highly anticipated Expressway opening last week.
The DASH Expressway would span 20.1km in length connecting Puncak Perdana to Penchala would be FREE for the public to use from 14 October until 30 November 2022. The DASH highway which has been six years in the making would serve to link Klang Valleys highway networks namely Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), Penchala Link, and SPRINT Expressway.
Construction of this Expressway which cost RM4.2-billion would feature state-of-the-art green initiatives such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting tech and green turf roofs throughout including its toll-plaza. The entire length of this Expressway would be monitored through 37 closed-circuit cameras (CCTV), 18 emergency telephone points, 30 vehicle incident detection systems (VIDS) and 10 variable message signs (VMS). All lighting along the Expressway would be of the LED kind to further aid the energy saving objective.
According to Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, “DASH is one of 53 high-impact projects in the government’s economic transformation programme, which offers 12,000 job opportunities to Keluarga Malaysia,”
The DASH Expressway is expected to attract 50,000 daily road users looking to escape the current heavy peak-hour traffic congestion from Puncak Perdana to Penchala and all in-betweens intersections. The DASH is expected to cut down the travel time from Puncak Perdana to Penchala by 90 minutes making it a short 30 minute drive. Furthermore, this would trickle-down to ease traffic along Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari by 39 per cent, Jalan Sungai Buloh by 33 per cent and Persiaran Surian by 43 per cent. Listed below are the 13 intersections spanning the length of the Expressway.
Persimpangan Puncak Perdana
Persimpangan Alam Suria
Persimpangan Denai Alam
Persimpangan Kampung Melayu Subang
Persimpangan Pinggiran Subang
Persimpangan Subang 2
Persimpangan Subang Airport
Persimpangan RRIM Kwasa Damansara
Persimpangan Surian
Persimpangan Seksyen 5 Kota Damansara
Persimpangan Sunway Damansara
Persimpangan Damansara Perdana

The DASH Expressway would see three new toll plazas at Denai Alam, RRIM (Kwasa Damansara) and Kota Damansara. There would be two rest-area set-up at Denai Alam. Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings (Prolintas), is given a total concession period for DASH Expressway totalling 55 years which started on December 25, 2014 and would run until December 24, 2069. This is the second project launched by Prolintas this year, the first being Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). Do take note, thats althought the DASH Expressway is FREE for use now, you would still require a valid Touch 'n Go or RFID to access the expressway.
