- Volkswagen ID Buzz receives more than 20,000 bookings
The Volkswagen ID Buzz receives a lot of interest among Europeans which as of now, there’s more than 20,000 bookings in the country.
Initially the new electric van is only offered in a rear-wheel-drive, 82 kWh battery variant. However, customers do have a choice of a cargo van or a passenger variant. The inclusion of new versions that consist of a larger battery and global growth would undoubtedly result in a greater number of orders.
Early in June this year, the ID. Buzz started its production in Hanover, Germany. Volkswagen claims that the goal is to build 15,000 units by the end of 2022 before gradually ramping it up to 130,000 annually in the future.
However, dealers will use the first 6,000 or so units. Most likely some are for the media as well, thus only 9,000 clients will be able to acquire their ID. Buzz.
More than that, the VW ID. Buzz is the first van built on the MEB platform developed by the Volkswagen Group and takes a significantly different tack than other vans which are usually EV versions of existing conventional models.
Brand Management Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Lars Krause stated that even before the launch at their dealerships, the company has sold more than 20,000 ID. Buzz.
Now that they are available in the showrooms, the demands will continue to rise.
