- 16 Bus Passengers Wounded In Crash Involving A Trailer
Six express bus passengers were wounded when the bus collided with the back of a trailer at Kilometre 179.2 on the North-South Expressway, going north, here early on Monday (Nov 28).
Senior Fire Officer II Azman Md Dawam, operations officer at Jasin Bestari Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), said the station got an emergency call at 3.57am and a team of 17 personnel from the Jasin Bestari and Tangkak BBPs was dispatched to the spot, arriving 13 minutes later.
"When we arrived at the site, we discovered that an express bus carrying 27 passengers had collided with a trailer carrying recyclable goods."
"A total of 16 passengers had minor injuries and were treated promptly." "There were no fatalities or serious injuries in the accident," he said in a statement issued here on Monday.
Meanwhile, DSP Mispani Hamdan of Jasin District Police stated all of the casualties were Singaporeans and that the express bus was on its way to Kuala Lumpur.
He stated that the express bus driver, 42, was suspected to have lost control of the wheel, leading the bus to collide with the trailer's back.
