The heat of the 15th General Election (GE) seems to be getting stronger with the candidate nomination process that was done this morning.

To that end, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) reminds the public not to fly drones without approval in crowded areas during the GE-15 season.

This includes during the three important dates set by the Election Commission (SPR) namely Candidate Nomination Day on 5 November 2022 (Saturday), Early Voting Day on 15 November 2022 (Tuesday) and Voting Day on 19 November 2022 (Saturday).

This ban also includes the entire campaigning period of 14 days starting after Candidate Nomination Day.

This step was taken to ensure the smoothness of GE-15 as well as to avoid any unwanted incidents, especially regarding the safety and security of the public, especially the voters.

For info, all operations of drone activities in this country are subject to Section 4 of the Civil Aviation Act 1969 (Act 3); Regulation 98, Regulation 140-144, Malaysian Civil Aviation Regulations (MCAR 2016) and Civil Aviation Directives (CADs).
