Husband and wife killed, three-year-old daughter injured in Kota Tinggi car crash

A husband and wife were killed and their three-year-old child was injured in In a car accident at KM46 Jalan Johor Baru-Mersing here.

According to Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora, the family was on their way to Skudai after the wife, 31, voted in Lok Heng on Saturday (Nov 19).

"According to investigations, the husband, 37, abruptly lost control of their vehicle and drifted into the opposing lane."

In a statement, he added, "an incoming car then smashed into their vehicle."

According to Supt Hussin, the husband and wife were pronounced dead at the scene, and their daughter's right leg was fractured.

"The collision occurred amid rainy conditions," he explained, adding that the case is being investigated in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The infant was rescued by the public and taken to Hospital Kota Tinggi for treatment, according to Kota Tinggi Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Moh Rafi Mohd Nor.

"The other vehicle was driven by a 60-year-old man who was unharmed," he added.
