The 12th edition of the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2022 would be happening this weekend in downtown Kuala Lumpur and several roads would be closed starting from 11 to 13 November 2022. This annual event which is back after a 2 year hiatus due to the pandemic would see the participation of around 50,000 runners.

Based on the visualiser map video provided below, there are 4 different categories of runs to be flagged-off at different times on the day.

The 5km category would be held on 12 Nov at 7.15am covering the Jalan TAR, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Lembah, Jalan Perdana and Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin.

As for the 10km category, flag off would also be on the 12 Nov but at 6am. This category would cover the Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Lembah, Jalan Perdana and Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin.

The two main categories, the half marathon (21km) and full marathon (42km) would be held on the 13 Nov (Sunday). The full marathon would be flagged off at 3.45am while half marathon at 5.45am.

The half marathon would take place all along Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Raja Abdullah, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Ampang, AKLEH elevated highway, Jalan Kuching and Jalan Kinabalu.

As for the full marathon, the route taken would be similar to the half marathon but with the addition of nearly the entire length of DUKE Highway.

The event organisers Dirigo Events had also promised complimentary LRT and MRT services from 4:30 am to 6:00 am (Saturday) and 1:30 am to 6:00 am (Sunday) to ease the participants' commute to the KLSCM 2022. However with the Kelana Jaya to Ampang Park LRT line disruption just announced today till the 15th November this complimentary arrangements would be an issue for participants to take note before hand. The organisers have however acknowledged this matter when asked by a participant on their official facebook and mentioned that they are in talks with PRASARANA with regards to this matter and would advise in due time.

As for road users, coming from Karak Highway on the event day, you are advised to avoid using Bandar Dalam to go westbound on DUKE highway towards Segambut direction, instead use the MRR2 to get to Kepong, Mont Kiara, and surrounding areas.

Listed below are the available parking spaces around the event area should you choose to drive to the venue. We would advise carpooling in order to lessen the number of vehicles travelling to the venue as the main public mode of transportation would be partially down.
