Nissan Showcases NISMO Z At 2022 SEMA, Recognizing The Importance Of Aftermarket Industry
For the 2022 SEMA Show, Nissan has featured a NISMO team created a 2023 Nissan Z on display. This NISMO Nissan Z showcases a new range of performance-oriented NISMO accessory parts, which will be available through US Nissan dealers beginning in early 2023. While the new Nissan Z is still not available in our market, we do hope it comes in through the official distributor as the Nissan 370Z did years ago.
As for the SEMA showpiece Z, a set of NISMO coilover kit with a twin-tube design featuring a linear race spring system, rebound damping adjustability, and ride height adjustment is the first item on the Z's parts list. The suspension was designed with the help of racing driver Bryan Heitkotter, who won the 2011 Nissan GT Academy competition and went on to have a successful career racing for Nissan and now Chris Forsberg Racing.
Keeping the handling front in check are the NISMO adjustable stabiliser bar kit, a prototype NISMO strut tower bar, and NISMO suspension components such as rear mid-links, rear lower camber links, rear traction arms, endlinks, front upper arms, and front outer tie rod ends.
The display car has a NISMO big brake kit installed for greater stopping power, which includes track-rated brake pads, larger vented front and rear rotors, 6-piston front/4-piston rear callipers, and stainless-steel brake lines. The wheels of choice here are the ultra exclusive NISMO LM-RS1 wheels measuring 19 x 9.5 inches front and 19 x 10.5 inches rear. These wheels are lightweight, forged, and available in black, anthracite, and bronze semi-gloss finishes to compliment any car colour, and have been tested to strict NISMO requirements. The NISMO wheels come fitted with 255/40/19 front and 285/35/19 rear Bridgestone RE71RS tyres.
A fully dyno-tested, CAD-designed NISMO cold air intake with a bell-mouth design has been tasked to increase the airflow into the stock 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. Furthermore, the NISMO performance radiator replaces the OEM unit providing 148% more capacity than the original piece resulting in lower charge air temperatures and maintaining performance on hot days and track events.
For the exhaust, a simple stainless steel NISMO track exhaust with a 2.25-inch outer pipe diameter was opted for, and the power is transmitted via a NISMO street twin-disc clutch and flywheel kit. This clutch kit is designed to handle up to 800HP and 1000Nm of torque while still maintaining a factory-like pedal feel. Now those of us running after-market clutch kits will know this is god-sent.
As for the exterior and interior trimming, NISMO carbon fibre exterior mirror covers, a NISMO fuel filler cover, NISMO kick plates, a NISMO GT titanium shift knob, a prototype NISMO carbon fibre steering wheel trim kit was added. Under the hood, a NISMO carbon fibre engine cover, NISMO coolant expansion tank, and a NISMO oil filler cap are among the visual enhancements on the car.
