The annual aftermarket-focused Tokyo Auto Salon 2023 (TAS 2023) is set to take place next month in January. Japanese automaking giant Nissan is set to enter the show with a display of up to 11 vehicles, and all of which were previewed by the firm this week.

One of the headlining stars here is the Nissan Fairlady Z Customized Edition that won the Grand Prix at the 2022 Tokyo International Custom Car Contest. It sports subtle upgrades like a new front bumper separating the front fascia in two sections via a crossbar added in the middle.

The lower fascia also sees small slits whilst the A-pillars, roof, mirror caps, and side stripes are finished in black to contrast over the car’s orange-hued exterior.

Alongside this customised edition of the road-going Fairlady Z, Nissan will also showcase the GT500-spec Nissan Z racecar that competes in the Japanese Super GT championship. More specifically, it’s the Motul-liveried #23 car run by the factory-backed Nismo works team that will be displayed here.

Nissan Serena Highway Star Concept.

Also on display will be two different custom concepts of the recently launched C28-gen Nissan Serena MPV. First of which will be the Highway Star Concept. In this form, the C28-gen Serena gets a sportier exterior thanks to a new front splitter, illuminated front grille, as well as a striking aluminium colour body wrap.

L-R: New C28-gen Serena and X-Trail concepts by Autech.

Displayed next to that is an iteration of the C28-gen Serena done by Nissan’s Autech division featuring sporty upgrades such as a full aerokit, lowered suspension, and 18-inch wheels. Besides the new Serena, the Autech division will also showcase a customised X-Trail that boasts shiny new 20-inch wheels and posh new white-coloured leather seats on board.

Another rather cool vehicle Nissan will showcase here is a Caravan (known as the NV350 Urvan is other markets like ours) primed with four portable power packs that’s recharged using a roof-mounted solar panel. Said tech, derived from the Nissan Leaf, were designed for use by professionals that need plenty of electric power whilst working ‘off the grid’ in remote locations.

Other nifty bits primed include a tool rack plus a sterilising air-conditioning unit.

Nissan Roox Suite Concept teaser.

Amongst the visible cars previewed, Nissan also confirmed the debut of a brand new concept based on its Roox van. Though little can be seen from the dark and veiled preview silhouette, the Roox Suite Concept will showcase a more spacious cabin with a piano inside. It is "customised to enable special times with loved ones," says Nissan.

Besides this, Nissan’s TAS 2023 line up will also feature several other Japanese home market-specific concepts and oddities.

L-R: Nissan Cube 'Refreshed and Retro' concept, Nissan Note Aura by Nismo.

L-R: Nissan Ariya and Sakura car-sharing.

Included are the Sakura and Ariya EVs sporting Nissan’s car-sharing service brand through a special exterior wrap. Next comes a sporty Formula E-inspired redux of the Note Aura by Nismo, not forgetting a ‘Refreshed and Retro’ concept of the Cube that sees Nissan taking a used example to showcase its vehicle restoration efforts and a myriad of bronze-coloured custom parts.

So which of these concepts that Nissan is bringing to the upcoming TAS 2023 is your favourite, then? Hit the comments below with your thoughts and picks…
