- #PM10’s ride of choice? A Bimmer!
Kudos to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for being chosen as the country’s 10th prime minister bringing an end to political instability following GE15 last weekend. The newly appointed Prime Minister rides on a stylish BMW 7 series which saw several car brands at his residence in Sg Long.
This evening around 4.40pm, the Pakatan Harapan Chairman was spotted boarding a BMW 740Le xDrive Pure Excellence vehicle with his wife Datin Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who was escorted by a police escort, Special Action Unit, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and eight other vehicles.
Notably, the BMW 740Le xDrive Pure Excellence was the only option of the facelifted 6th generation BMW 7-Series. The vehicle costs RM 569,062, which includes sales and service tax but does not include insurance.
Exterior wise, the bimmer has a luxury and refined appearance, with the major focus being their new and enlarged kidney grille that is 40% larger than previously for greater visual presence. The car's headlamps seem to be significantly thinner, with BMW Laserlight technology and a larger BMW emblem.
Moving inside, the 7-Series has 5 roomy seats. All seats are electronically adjustable and upholstered in Nappa leather. The front passenger and driver seats provide four-way lumbar support, memory functions, and are heated and ventilated. Not to mention the massaging functions for the rear seats.
Under the hood, it consists of 3.0 litre turbocharged straight-six engine and an electric motor powering the 7-Series. The petrol engine produces 282 hp at 5,000-6,000 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 1,500-3,000 rpm, while the electric motor produces 112 hp and 265 Nm. The entire system power is 394 hp at 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and torque of 750 Nm.

While Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been summoned to appear before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, in connection with the awarding of the Inauguration Certificate and the Customs of Appointing the Oath of Service and Loyalty and the Oath of Keeping Secrets as Prime Minister, there is another interesting info.
According to MalaysiaKini, Anwar Ibrahim may not have a car to his name, but he is traversing the campaign trail in style - with a loaned BMW Series 7 sedan being one of the vehicles he uses. Hence, if you saw a similar BMW with the car plate number (BEM 1) on the streets, it’s probably other drivers.
Again, congratulations Malaysian for getting a new Prime Minister today on November 24, 2022!
