BMW Malaysia sees its local line up updated today following the firm’s introduction of the refreshed 2022 BMW Z4 sDrive30i M Sport. The updated open-top sportscar model’s addition was officially announced today, and here’s what’s in store in its latest 2022MY form.

Up front, the 2022MY Z4 sDrive30i M Sport sees its signature kidney grilles sport bolder new horizontal lines added to its mesh design, accompanied by redesigned side-intakes, as new M high-gloss Shadowline exterior trims.

Besides that, the exterior refresh also includes new 19-inch double-spoke style M Light Alloy Wheels primed at all four corners too. Said new wheels are meant to match the new and updated Adaptive M suspension the Z4 rides on as well.

On board, the updates continue with the cabin’s new Aluminium Mesheffect trim finishes. Retained though are things like the M Sport seats wrapped in Leather Vernasca upholstery, head-up display HUD, both Driving and Parking Assistant features, as well as the BMW Live Cockpit Professional functions.

Meanwhile, colours of the interior upholstery include Leather Vernasca in Black décor with Black stitching, Ivory White décor with Black stitching, Magma Red décor with Black stitching, or Cognac décor with Black stitching.

Thundernight Metallic.
L-R: Skyscraper Grey, Portimao Blue.

Capping off the visual updates is the addition of three new paintjob options, those being Skyscraper Grey, Thundernight Metallic, and Portimao Blue. These come on top of the existing signature trio of Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and San Francisco Red.

Mechanically, the 2022MY Z4 sDrive30i M Sport retains the Bavarian brand’s familiar 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo mill mounted up front. Paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, the mill delivers 258 HP and 400 NM to the rear wheels via said transmission, allowing 0-100 KM/H in just 5.4 seconds too.

As for price, BMW Group Malaysia has tagged the 2022 BMW Z4 sDrive30i M Sport at RM508,800 sans insurance. Included in said price is BMW Group Malaysia’s usual 5-year, unlimited mileage ‘Service and Repair Inclusive’ warranty and free scheduled service program, both Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline access, as well the BMW Group Loyalty+ Mobile App (BMW Privileges Card) service.

Keen on this open-top Bavarian roadster for your wind-in-hair thrills? Or would you prefer its Toyota-badged hard-top twin the GR Supra that actually costs more? Hit the comments below with your thoughts!
