- 2022 Porsche Festival In Dubai Attracts Over 15,000 Visitors
Another year, another Icons of Porsche festival. On November 26–27, 2022, at "The Slab" in the Dubai Design District (D3), United Arab Emirates, nearly 15,000 Porsche enthusiasts attended the two-day event. The event was hosted at the mentioned location for the second time.
The festival's theme this year was "Icons of Porsche, Safari Edition" in order to appeal to Middle Eastern fans' and enthusiasts' desire for an off-road adventure. Several vehicles were shown on the 31,000 square foot festival grounds in five zones, each with a unique theme to appeal to different Porsche aficionados.
The 911 Dakar, 911 GT3 RS, and 911 Sport Classic made their regional debuts during the 2022 Icons of Porsche festival. Mark Webber, Timo Bernhard, and six-time Le Mans 24-Hour champion Jacky Ickx, all racing greats, were also in attendance.
Fans were also given an exciting ride in the most recent Cayenne on a specially constructed off-road course inside the event grounds. As part of the region's commemoration of 20 Years of Cayenne, a first-generation Cayenne that had recently undergone restoration was also on show.
The "Safari Camel," a life-size reproduction of a well-known work of art by renowned digital artist Chris Labrooy, was unveiled at the event.
This year, the Porsche Museum in Germany transported four vintage sports vehicles to Dubai for Icons of Porsche. These include the 1978 Porsche 911 SC Safari, the 1981 Porsche 924 GTS Rallye, the 1986 Porsche 959 Paris-Dakar, and the 1981 Porsche 911 C 5 (SC) San Remo.
The 2023 Icons of Porsche festival is scheduled to take place from November 18 to 19. It will mark the 75th anniversary of Porsche's sports vehicles.
