- COSMOS Watch Series, Designed By Frank Stephenson
The well-known Frank Stephenson has shifted his focus from primarily designing automobiles to producing a fashionable timepiece. Before we go further, the car designer has worked for renowned car brands like Ford, BMW, Mini, Ferrari, Maserati, Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, and McLaren.
More on that, his iconic designs include the Ferrari F430, McLaren P1, Maserati MC12, Ford Escort RS Cosworth, and models like the Fiat 500.

He began his three-decade career at Ford, where he designed the double rear spoiler for the Escort RS Cosworth, and later moved on to BMW. His greatest story follows when he was in charge of designing the first X5 and then the new MINI hatchback during his lengthy tenure at the German automaker.
Stephenson, who Motor Trend magazine has referred to as "one of the most influential automotive designers of our time," established a YouTube channel under his name in April 2020 and amassed more than 200k subscribers.
Back to the story, his collaboration with Time Concepts to create the COSMOS series is actually inspired by space, hence the overall shape of it covered by smooth flow of stellar winds. A dial made of granite with flecks in it surrounds the watch face which is meant to resemble a starry night sky.
Despite the fact that the three hands appear to be floating around the watch and rotating around what Stephenson refers to as a "black hole," the dials on a third-generation (2007-2015) Mercedes C-Class have a similar design.
Meanwhile, the watch's movement is a Miyota quartz movement system, and the number font is printed using Superluminova ink which glows in the dark. In terms of pricing, the watch is being offered for a fair $250 price and has a stainless-steel case, silicone rubber band, and custom buckle.
“It’s the age-old adage ‘car people are watch people’, so it was a natural step for me to get creative with timepieces too.It was very enjoyable designing COSMOS and I’m proud to debut it to all enthusiasts” claims Stephenson.
