- Ipoh City Hall Is Setting Up EV Chargers Around Ipoh In 2023
The Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh – MBI) took a step forward when it announced its new initiative in installing 30 new electric vehicle (EV) chargers in and around Ipoh.
The move stems from the Perak state capital’s booming popularity amongst local and international residents, as well as increasing convenience for EV owners to charge their vehicles whilst visiting Ipoh.
MBI will reportedly set up no less than 30 EV chargers at strategic locations around Ipoh starting from next year - 2023. Additionally, It is understood that MBI has partnered with several private corporations and service providers to install these EV chargers.
Also, MBI has drafted the provision of EV chargers as part of said municipality’s 2030 Low Carbon City Plan Blueprint bid. This is aimed at encouraging greater EV adoption as a means towards reducing carbon emissions.
Presently, EV owners can charge their vehicle in Ipoh at the following locations within the city:
Taman D.R Seenivasagam
Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz
Ibu Pejabat MBI
Pejabat Lama MBI di Ipoh Padang
