- Geely Switches To A New And Minimalistic Logo Design

Geely New Logo
Chinese automaking giant Geely just unveiled a new logo design, featuring a flatter new and minimalistic look. This is the brand’s third new logo design since it was founded in 1986, with the latest one ditching the outgoing logo’s three-dimensional look.
For the latest iteration of its logo, Geely opt to drop the outgoing design’s white 'grille' in favour of slim horizontal and vertical lines instead. It's the most basic logo since the initial silhouette of a red mountain seen in its first ever logo design.
The basic grille design of the outgoing logo remains, both featuring 6 panels, a horizontal bar, and 2 vertical lines. Notably, this design was first used by Geely in 2013, when they unveiled their "Refined Cars 3.0 Era" logo.

Geely Logo Evolution
Both emblems had black and blue elements that represented "earth and sky, expressing the brand's ambition of seeing its products travel over the world and its aspiration to reach for the skies."
Although Geely didn’t say much about the new logo, the company stated it is their first step towards pursuing smarter and more tech-focused products for customers. In more than 30 years, the Geely brand has come a long way.
Apart from being a local success in China, the firm has ventured overseas with notable achievements such as resurrecting the Volvo Cars, as well as its collaboration with Daimler AG in rebooting the Smart brand into a new and electrified one.
Closer to home, Geely is also credited with successfully elevating the Malaysian auto brand Proton to new heights.
