- Honda Malaysia: 2023 Prices Remain Unchanged For Now
Though we’re barely halfway through the first week of 2023, it seems the prediction made by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) about car prices increasing this year, especially for fully imported (CBU) offerings, is playing out much earlier than anticipated.
This is ringing true for certain Japanese brands that still have CBU offerings in their current line-up. However, it seems Honda remains unaffected. This is likely due to the fact that its current line-up consists of locally assembled (CKD) models only that roll out of its plant in Pagoh, Malacca.
CariCarz.com has reached out directly to Honda Malaysia earlier today and asked regarding this matter. A spokesperson from the firm’s senior management responded and said, “Despite the current challenging situation, Honda Malaysia will maintain its car prices as of now. Our priority is to continue providing the highest quality products and deliver to customers in a timely manner.”
In other words, prices for Honda Malaysia’s entire line up will remain as they are until further notice. What also remains though are the waiting periods for select models like the HR-V. Said crossover SUV received much fanfare since it launched in July last year, resulting in a substantial waiting list and delivery time.
We’ve approached Honda Malaysia prior regarding delivery times, to which the firm says are “almost back to normal” now. With the exception of the HR-V and non-hybrid variants of the new 11th-gen Civic, all other Honda models are subjected to a regular waiting time of roughly 2-3 months.
