- Man Accused Of Scamming People In Bangsar By Faking Car Breakdown
Netizens are warning the public to be wary of an elderly man who is suspected of being a con man. The warning was posted in The Republic of Bangsar #TROB, a Facebook neighbourhood group. He is allegedly looking for victims on the side of the road in Bangsar. His tactic is to park his car on the side of the road and ask for money to repair his vehicle, which appeared to be quite old. The man would insist that he has disabilities in order to persuade people (OKU). Internet users claimed that despite police warnings, the elderly man kept returning. In addition, they had seen him in Ampang, Pandan Indah, and KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur. A user on the internet claimed the man was a relative and cautioned others not to believe him.
The elderly man is allegedly trying to gain sympathy by claiming to be diabetic, according to Twitter user @braderlongheh. A netizen even gave him RM200 after the elderly man stopped him while driving.
Brian Choo, another netizen, said he assisted the elderly man in crossing a road in Damansara Heights. However, the man ended up taking money from Choo's wallet. Should you Refuse To Give Money To A Stranger? Drop your thoughts in the comment section below.
