Based on the little shared we are able to know that the CR-V would feature a combination of an internal combustion engine coupled with some form of electrification to reach the 800HP number. From the teased video we are also able to see the extremely quick response on the race car as a result of this hybrid system.
The idea of taking a run of the mill family SUV as a base for a race car instead of a sedan or a sports coupe is something uncommon, however it has been done before successfully by Suzuki in the 90’s with the Suzuki Escudo (Vitara) which went on to become an iconic “Pikes Peak” race car packing an impressive 1000HP.

As for the Honda CR-V Hybrid race car, we just have to wait a little longer for the full details as the official reveal date would be on the 28 Feb 2023.
