PDRM Issue Over 100 Summonses In Op On Non-Compliant Number Plates

In a traffic operation against illegally displayed number plates, police issued over 100 summonses. Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 21) that an operation was launched on Feb 18 at Dataran Kemerdekaan here. The operation was part of a nationwide crackdown on number plate non-compliance, he said.

"As a result of the operation, 285 summonses were issued for various traffic infractions, while 94 summonses were issued for number plate offences," he said. The majority of number plate offences involved custom "fancy" number plates that did not comply with the set regulations. "In addition, 81 motorcycles were seized for a variety of reasons, including riding without a licence," he added.
