Sentul Timur - Bandaraya LRT Train Frequency Reduced Due To Maintenance Issue.
Rapid KL just announced late yesterday that the LRT service between Sentul Timur station and Bandaraya station will now operate at a delayed frequency of every 12 minutes. This is due to Rapid KL reducing the number of trains operating on that route for safety reasons.
Since January 27, 2023, a total of five trains have been used between the stations and the structural and track damage near the Bandaraya station, is resulting in those trains not able to return to the Ampang LRT depot for its regular maintenance work.
That has resulted in three of the five trains having had to be removed as it no longer met the operational criteria leaving only two trains servicing the route.
To compensate, Rapid KL has activated the intermediate bus service (LRT11) between Sentul Timur and Bandaraya stations to ferry passengers during the peak hours. Ten buses will be used for this service.
The intermediate bus service will make stops at Sentul Timur, Sentul, Titiwangsa, PWTC, Sultan Ismail and Bandaraya stations along its route. Each trip is expected to take about 30 minutes.
