Leading tyremaker Continental introduced its new ComfortContact CC7 tyres today. Part of its new Generation 7 tyres line, the ComfortContact CC7 is presented as an all-around tyre that features a host of improvements all around over its ComfortContact CC6 predecessor.

According to Continental, the ComfortContact CC7’s development saw a global team of 30 engineers and material experts investing over 7,500 hours in designing, simulating, constructing, and testing prototypes of CC7 across 500 tests under various road conditions.

“Given the distinct requirements of different customer bases as well as the demand of innovative technology, we dig deep to understand the needs of drivers in Malaysia and create products to fulfil these requirements,” stated Managing Director of Continental Tyre Malaysia, Andrea Somorova.

Key improvements incorporated include Continental’s proprietary Comfort+ Technology that entails the CC7’s employment of “Z.E.N” – Zero Shock Pattern, Everflex Compound, and Noise Muter.

The CC7’s Zero Shock Pattern works in tandem with a unique tread pattern design specifically aimed towards reducing harshness on bumpy and uneven road surfaces which heightens rolling comfort to another level.

The Everflex Compound stands out as a resilient all-season complex that allows the tyre to withstand daily commutes and high-mileage trips throughout a wider range of temperatures or seasons.

Noise Muter incorporates both of Continental’s Noise Breaker 3.0 and Helmholtz Resonators tech. The former works by interrupting sound waves that travel through the tyre’s groove by effectively breaking and dispersing them into smaller waves to ease noise build up and cabin intrusion.

The noise-absorbing chambers on the pattern surface of the tyre, known as Helmholtz Resonators, named after a German physicist who created the Helmholtz Resonance theory, draw in air waves, and soak up noise frequencies before they can even exit.

Available through authorised dealers and retailers since Oct 2022, the new Continental ComfortContact CC7 tyres are available in 13-inch to 16-inch fitments, thus covering a wide variety of mini-compact, compact, mid-size cars, as well as MPVs.

Continental didn’t indicate a recommended retail price, though based on this shopping website, dealers have priced the new ComfortContact CC7 from RM170.00 apiece.
