This Aston Martin x Girard-Perregaux Laureato Is The ‘Greenest’ Watch in The World
Aston Martin (AM) has collaborated with renowned Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux in creating perhaps the ‘greenest’ watch in the world, dubbed as the Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition. As its moniker suggests, the limited-edition watch is fully-made of ceramic, while boasting some supercar-inspired design cues around it.
This collaboration, however, is not the first time that the Swiss watchmaker has partnered with the British marque, as both brands have launched a slew of special edition models prior to this one. In fact, Girard-Perregaux is also one of the global partners for the marque’s Formula One (F1) outfit, the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team.
The G-P Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition comes with a stunning diamond pattern dial finished in AM’s signature racing green – just like the one used in the Vantage F1 Edition. It also features unique skeletonised hands, as well as a lightweight ceramic case with octagonal bezel and bracelet.
In the photos, the bracelet and ceramic case seemed to have a slightly subdued green hue to it compared to the dial. But Aston Martin said both the case and bracelet are also imbued in the same AM racing green hue just like the dial.
Based on G-P’s most famous model, the Laureato, this AM Edition model also comes with the brand’s signature GP01800, 28-jewel automatic movement, with a 54-hour power reserve. Taking a dip with this special watch is no problem, as it is primed with a water resistance rating of up to 100 M.
Coming in two case sizes, 38 MM and 42 MM, the Laureato AM Edition is poised to go on sale beginning in June this year, at an undisclosed price. For comparison, the standard Laureato 42 MM version currently retails at around $20,300 (RM89,726). With only 388 units available for the bigger 42 MM case and a much lesser 188 units for the 38 MM version, expect a much much heftier price tag for one of these special models.
