Both the Royal Malaysian Police Force (PDRM) and Road Transport Department (JPJ) would be in full force ensuring road users abide by the road safety rules and regulation to ensure minimised incidents throughout this upcoming Hari Raya holidays as many Malaysian make their way back to their hometowns to celebrate.

PDRM via its internal resources would implement “Ops Lancar” from the 18 to 19 April 2023 to ensure traffic congestion burden is eased in federal roads and highways. PDRM would also enlist help from RELA to help ease traffic as especially during the Hari Raya preparation period.

Following up from “Ops Lancar”, PDRM via the Traffic Investigation And Enforcement Department (JSPT) would kick off “Ops Selamat 20” from the 20th till 27th April 2023. “Ops Selamat 20” is targeted to ensure smoother flow of traffic and minimise road accidents during the long holiday period. “Ops Selamat 20” would also focus on efforts to reduce crime and cases of break-ins.

PDRM’s drone monitoring effort would also be enlisted to monitor traffic from air to identify congested zones so that the information can be sent to the relevant ground force so action can be taken in easing the traffic.

On-ground officers would be aided by drones to ensure better enforcement and traffic monitoring

PDRM also advises road users to keep close tabs on information dissipated by the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) so that they can have a smooth travel experience. Up to date both PLUS and ANIH have issued their respective Travel Time Advisory (TTA). Users can also rely on mobile navigation apps such as Waze which is constantly updated via its community.

With regards to road offences such as misuse of the emergency lane and others, PDRM would like to enlist the general public to be their eyes and ears and report any offenders with supporting pictures and video. Road users are also advised to always be courteous when on the road and focus when behind the wheel.
