Police Agrees To Allow Public Parking Outside HRPB

The Perak state government said that there won't be any summonses issued to people who leave their cars parked outside the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) grounds.

This matter was confirmed by the chairman of the state's Human Resources, Health and Indian Community Affairs Committee, A Sivanesan who admitted to having held a meeting with Perak Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri on March 3 (Monday).

In conjunction with this matter, the struggles of finding parking at said hospital has grown to multiple complaints from the public while also getting sued for parking on the side of the road near the hospital.

To tackle the endless parking issue, the chairman however said the leeway is subject to several conditions. For instance, as long as the vehicle does not impede traffic or blocking other cars by double parking method.

"I have asked for cooperation from the police not to issue a summons against HRPB hospital visitors and to give flexibility until May, after the new parking lot is ready.

"According to the Perak Police Chief, he will take note of the matter, but if there is 'double parking' it is not allowed at all and does not block traffic. So, for this month and a half, I believe the police will cooperate fully," the chairman said.

As reported, a new parking lot with a capacity of 240 spaces is expected to be completed in mid-May this year.
