In conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, more than three million vehicles are expected to enter Perak. This involves road users travelling through the North-South Expressway (NSE) and the West Coast Expressway (WCE).

State Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee Chairman, Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin stated that traffic will be heavy especially during peak days on Friday (April 21), Saturday (April 22) and Sunday (April 23).

He further claims that motorists coming from Selangor such as Kuala Selangor, Banting and Sabak Bernam will be using the WCE highway to ease the load on the NSE route or the old road.

"The state government hopes that road users take safety aspects into consideration while driving, in addition to always being calm, alert and patient while driving’’ .

"We hope the Perak MKJR will achieve the target of reducing the number of road accident deaths by 50 per cent by the end of 2030," he included during a pc after launching the 2023 Hari Raya Aidilfitri Road Safety Campaign by the Perak Road Safety Council (MKJR) and Perak RTD at Mydin Mall in Meru Raya yesterday (Apr 18)
