Aussie Man Has Rare McLaren Senna GTR Craned Up Into His Posh Condo

An Australian millionaire recently made headlines after successfully getting his rare hypercar delivered into his new ultra-luxurious condo in Melbourne. Fuelling this was the method and means said car was delivered - a massive crane.
The car in question happens to be a McLaren Senna GTR, of which just 75 examples were built, each packing an 814 HP twin-turbo V8 heart plus both a race-engineered chassis and aerodynamics. Owner Adrian Portelli, an Australian businessman, also reportedly paid a hefty sum for it – some AUS$3 million (approx. RM8.99 million).

Naturally, Portelli also has the disposable income to afford himself a home in one of Melbourne’s newest and poshest development called Sapphire By The Gardens. Said luxury condo, which saw Malaysia’s state-owned developers S P Setia Berhad as one of its developers, boasts units costing up to AUS$39 million (approx. RM116.85 million).
Having had his fun hooning his Senna GTR both on circuit and in an empty warehouse, Portelli decided that the best way to keep said McLaren in his possession was to have it sit as a centrepiece display in his new penthouse located on the 57th floor of the new Sapphire By The Gardens development mentioned.
Adding to which is the fact said McLaren, in the eyes of Australian vehicular legislation, wasn’t allowed to be registered for road use – it is, after all, purpose-built for track use by makers McLaren. Perhaps this was arguably a much better way for Portelli to ‘store’ his McLaren as opposed to a garage or warehouse.
Obviously, with no lifts big enough built into the building to transport the hypercar up without disassembling it, Portelli managed to convince Sapphire By The Gardens’ developers to have his McLaren transported into his new penthouse by lifting it up using one of their construction cranes.
To achieve this, one construction crane was left attached one of the now finished building’s two towers, which was later used to lift up Portelli’s McLaren into his new multi-million-dollar penthouse. Obviously, the effort grabbed attention and headlines as the rather over-the-top delivery happened.
Surely, this has got to be one of the biggest ‘flex’ involving both a rare hypercar and a ultra-expensive luxury home we’ve seen in recent times. Could you think of a better way to top Portelli’s McLaren delivery by means of crane?
