The Malaysia Autoshow 2023 happening last week saw many automakers, both local and international, debuting and showcasing their latest models for the public to feast their eyes upon. Among the many brands that participated in the nation’s biggest auto show was Subaru, showcasing their latest SUV model, the Subaru Forester facelift.

2023 Subaru Forester GT Edition facelift with special GT body kit

Displayed here at Subaru’s booth in Hall A of MAEPS was the range-topping Subaru Forester GT Edition model, draped in Cascade Green Silica hue. As we’ve previously reported, the GT Edition gets all the bells and whistles, including the sportier GT body kit consisting of the silver-hued front and rear lip extensions, side skirts, as well as black-hued roof-mounted spoiler.

Apart from the special body kit and GT badging, the range-topping variant also rides on a set of GT-specific 18-inch wheels with multi-spoke design and two-tone silver and black finishing.

Elsewhere, the facelifted Forester boasts a slew of design updates, with the most notable one being the new LED headlights design, now featuring sharper and more aggressive look, with C-shaped LED DRLs built-in them. The rear part also gets new taillights with similar design and shape as the front ones.

Aside from the Forester, Subaru’s booth at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 also features other models like the Subaru XV crossover, Subaru BRZ, as well as the marque’s latest flagship model, the Subaru WRX sedan.

The blue-hued WRX displayed here was the 2.4 MT version, packed with a 2.4-litre 4-cyl turbocharged ‘boxer’ mill that is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This setup grants this sporty saloon a total system output of 271 HP and 375 NM. And just like the newly-launched SUV, the WRX also comes equipped with Subaru’s proprietary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, as well as underpinning the latest Subaru Global Platform (SGP) chassis.

Visually, the WRX sports a rather ‘extreme’ underbody cladding to denote the car’s off-roading and rallying capabilities, apart from the simple yet stylish overall look of the car. Fuelling this sentiment further is the signature WRX blue hue this car draped in, elevating this ‘simple-looking’ car to another level.

The all-new Subaru Forester facelift is now available for purchase, with prices starting at RM173,500 for the baseline 2.0 i-L variant, while the mid-spec 2.0 i-S variant commands a RM183,500 price tag. Both the GT specs – the 2.0 i-L GT Lite and 2.0 i-S GT Edition – command a price tag of RM179,500 and RM195,500 respectively. All prices are inclusive of Subaru’s 5-year of 100,000 KM vehicle warranty, whichever comes first.
