Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Teases New Models – A-Class Facelift Coming Soon?
![]()
It seems that Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) isn’t done yet with launching new products into our local market. Fresh from launching the AMG EQE and AMG EQS, the marque is planning to bring two more models into its line-up, as suggested by the two teaser images published today.

Posted via Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s official Facebook page, the first of the two teaser images previews a front view of a Mercedes model draped in shadow, with a whole text that reads, “Time to turbocharge your every day.” The caption of said image unveils more about this mysterious model, which reads, “Make a statement on the road. Experience maximum driving pleasure and exhilaration that perfectly introduces you to the thrilling world of Mercedes-AMG.”
This caption proves that one of these two models will be an AMG model, albeit we can’t really tell which exact model it will be. For that, we need to take a closer look at the second teaser.

Similar to the first image, the second teaser image also previewed the shadow-draped front part of a Merc car. What’s more interesting about this image is the text that it came with, which reads, “Discover A Class Of Your Own”. After seeing that, our minds immediately think of the recently-facelifted Mercedes-Benz A-Class lineup that encompasses both the sedan and saloon body parts, including their AMG variants.

The facelift treatment granted on the fourth-gen A-Class is a rather light one, at least on the design front. These changes include new LED headlights design, tweaked body kit for the AMG line package, while the cabin gets posh Nappa leather upholstery, additional USB-C ports, latest MBUX software with optional fingerprint sensor, as well as a rear-view camera.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan facelift
More importantly, the facelift treatment grants the non-AMG A-Class models with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system (MHEV) that comprises of a belt-driven starter generator (BSG) instead of an integrated one we saw on the current C-Class model. This setup grants all A-Class models up to 14 HP of power boost, while fuel economy has substantially improved.

Fully-imported (CBU) Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4Matic+
MBM currently offers a slew of pre-facelift A-Class models under its belt, with most of them being the saloon variant. Current V177-gen A-Class sedan variants available include the A200 Progressive Line, A250 AMG Line, as well as the range-topping AMG A35 Matic – all of them are locally-assembled (CKD) in MBM’s Pekan facility. Meanwhile, the firm only offers the fully-imported (CBU) AMG A45 S 4Matic+ variant of the hatchback A-Class (W177).

With both photos saying the new models are coming soon, we can expect them to be launched this month, or even earlier, by this week. Until we hear more about these new models from MBM, there’s nothing much we can say about it.
