- RM1 Fare To And From KTM Station With Kumpool
Commuters can now take a van-hailing service to and from the KTM Komuter station in Subang Jaya for just RM1.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) announced a strategic partnership with Kumpool, which already operates in the city, Petaling Jaya, Putrajaya, and a few other areas, in order to improve first-and-last-mile connectivity.
The Subang Jaya Komuter station, which serves 48,000 train passengers per month, was chosen for the Klang Valley pilot project.
"Wherever you go within designated zones in Subang Jaya, a fare of RM1 will encompass a 5km radius," said Kumpool business head Goh Chun Hean.
"In Subang Jaya, we have over 100 stops as we strive to cover all residential and commercial areas."
The partnership between KTMB and Kumpool aims to provide passengers with a convenient mode of transportation.
Passengers can book their trip through the Kumpool app, as the service operates similarly to an on-demand shuttle, with passengers sharing the same route grouped together.
"The next phase will be introduced at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Komuter station in early July," said KTMB chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin.

"There are plans to extend the service to the southern region in order to benefit intercity users."
He stated that KTMB would closely monitor the system and continue to develop strategies to improve public transportation through collaborations with third-party service providers.
"As these platforms are increasingly preferred by commuters, KTMB welcomes strategic collaborations with ehailing and companies," said Mohd Rani.
