2023 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Gains IQ.Drive ADAS – From RM165,990 Onwards
2023 VW Tiguan Allspace with IQ.Drive announced.
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has refreshed the Tiguan Allspace 7-seat crossover SUV line-up in its latest 2023 model year guise. This recent update sees the #SUVW now primed with the VW brand’s IQ.Drive suite that adds a bevy of active driver assistance (ADAS) features.
Through IQ.Drive, the Tiguan Allspace has gained semi-autonomous driver assistances such as Front Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Side Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Assist. These, according to VPCM, now guarantee drivers with a more comfortable and safer journey.
IQ.Drive now adds Front Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Side Assist, Lane Assist, as well as
Rear Cross Traffic Alert, amongst many.
New ADAS features aside, the 2023MY Tiguan Allspace also gets a new wireless smartphone charging pad as standard fitment across the board. Like before, the Tiguan Allspace comes in three guises, those being a base ‘Life’ variant, mid-spec ‘Elegance’ trim, and a performance-oriented R-Line 4Motion range-topper.
There are no mechanical changes to report, meaning both the Life and Elegance continue harnessing a 1.4-litre TSI 4-cyl petrol heart paired with a 6-speed DSG transmission, the latter managing the former’s 150 PS and 250 NM outputs to drive the front wheels. This setup also boasts a frugal claimed fuel economy average of 7.7 litres/100 KM.
No changes to report mechanically as all variant still harness TSI 4-cyl petrol mills and DSG automatics.
The range-topping Tiguan 2.0 R-Line 4Motion, on the other hand, also continues to harness a peppier 2.0-litre TSI 4-cyl petrol heart delivering 220 PS and 350 NM. Said outputs are managed by both a 7-speed DSG automatic box plus 4Motion all-wheel-drive (AWD) as well, which promises smoother and punchier performance.
Other notable features primed in the racy range-topper includes a 10-speaker 480-watt Harman Kardon premium hi-fi audio system, and a set of 19-inch Sebring sports alloy wheels. Standard across the board are a tri-zone automatic climate control suite, powered tailgate, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, amongst many.
In terms of price, the updated 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace with IQ.Drive commands RM165,990 (Life), RM194,990 (Elegance), and RM245,990 (R-Line 4Motion) – OTR excluding insurance and newly announced Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP).
