New Generation Hyundai Santa Fe Bows With Wild New Box Styling
Say hello to the new fifth generation Hyundai Santa Fe!
The new fifth generation Hyundai Santa Fe has bowed online earlier today following numerous leaks in the days leading to its reveal. Certainly, what catches the eye here is its dramatic new and very square design that’s reportedly intent on baiting consumers in the off-road lifestyle market.
This is a refreshingly new style indeed for one of the Korean H-marque’s best-sellers, with its squared stance matched with a barrage of strikingly designed lights with an H-motif, squared wheel arches housing 21-inch wheels, massive tailgate that’s as wide as the vehicle, plus some added ruggedness to it all.
No details were released yet, but reports online indicate that this new Santa Fe has a much longer wheelbase than its predecessor's 2,765MM figure.

Note the striking head- and taillght design that's both squared and feature the H-motif.
The taillights are positioned very low and feature an H-motif, and the tailgate is adorned with both the traditional Hyundai badge plus an oversized ‘Santa Fe’ model script. Hyundai hasn’t released technical details, but reports indicate this new model has a longer wheelbase over its predecessor’s 2,765 MM figure.
Massive changes can be seen on board as well with this new generation Santa Fe adopting a new curved dual-screen display setup. Climate control settings however remain separate with dedicated buttons and knobs that work in tandem with capacitive touch keys.
The growth in size applies to the width too, hence the cabin's ability to house a curved dual-screen display and two wireless charging pads side-by-side.
There's now greater use of sustainable recycled plastics and leatherette, whilst both the second- and third-row seats are fully foldable.
Not only has wheelbase been stretched, the Santa Fe now sits wider too, with said fact evident by the centre stack’s design in housing two wireless charging pads side-by-side. Another notable design touch here is the continuous air vent spanning the entire dash.
Besides that, this new generation Santa Fe is big on sustainability thanks to the greater use of recycled plastics for its floormats, headliner, as well as the backrests of the fully-foldable second- and third-row seats. Adding to which is the adoption of artificial leather (leatherette) in the door inserts.
More details are expected next month when Hyundai officially presents the new Santa Fe via YouTube.
Apart from this initial set of images, little else was disclosed, but Hyundai is expected to give full details next month through a proper online presentation via its official YouTube channel. In the meantime, what you do folks think of the new fifth-gen Hyundai Santa Fe then? Are you digging its squared new look?
