- Touch ‘n Go eWallet Users Can Make QR Payments In Over 12 Countries
Touch 'n Go eWallet now offers seamless cross-border payment services in more nations, bringing Malaysians a whole new level of convenience.
Millions of Touch 'n Go eWallet users can travel to well-known locations like Japan, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and Indonesia without worrying about whether they can make digital payments.
Through its integration with national cross-border QR payment and partnership with Ant Group's Alipay+, this development offers its users access to a vast network of millions of merchant touchpoints.
The QRIS network, which is used in Indonesia, now also accepts Touch n' Go eWallet, allowing its users to pay conveniently at more than 25 million merchant touchpoints at competitive exchange rates.
Touch n' Go eWallet users have been able to experience easy access to their digital wallets throughout the Alipay+ merchant network in the Chinese mainland, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore since its integration into Alipay+ in 2022.
“Technology has given us the opportunity to address pain points that our users’ experience while travelling, especially while carrying banknotes. I am certain that our users will appreciate the convenience and peace of mind when transacting with our eWallet during their travels,” said Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital Sdn. Bhd.
Those looking to use digital wallets while travelling should look for the following logos:
Before making payments, users will be able to conveniently transact in the respective country's local currency, with real-time foreign exchange rates displayed in the eWallet. Payment will be deducted from their eWallet or GO+ balance, just as it is done in Malaysia. Malaysians can expect even more countries, including the Philippines, Australia, and others, to join the payment network in the future.

Step 2: Choose the ‘Pay’ icon and tap on ‘swipe up to pay abroad with Alipay+’ Step 3: Select the country to perform mobile payment and view the forex rates Step 4: Show QR code to merchant Step 5: Merchant scans user’s QR code Step 6: Payment complete User scans merchant’s QR code using ‘Scan’ function:
