- BMW And AirConsole Introduce In-Car Gaming Platform For The New 5s
BMW and AirConsole are showcasing their new partnership with an i5 demonstration and a new game title: "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" this week at Gamescom in Cologne.
"Introducing 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' to our platform represents the perfect blend of entertainment and innovation," said Michael Fuller, AirConsole's Business Development Manager for Games. "The game is a beloved global phenomenon," he continues, "and its inclusion demonstrates our excitement and commitment to pioneering in-car gaming."
Players can use AirConsole to play casual games in their new i5, such as while waiting for the car to charge.
The game, which is currently in development, will be an entirely new version of the world's most popular quiz show, designed specifically for in-car gaming.
In 2024, 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' will be available in BMW and MINI vehicles via the AirConsole App.
To commemorate the introduction of in-car gaming, the BMW Group will display a BMW i5 with a custom gaming wrap at Gamescom.
Its design represents delving into the gaming experience down to the pixel level. The large pixels are easily identified as a nod to the now-iconic 8-bit era of computer games.
The colour scheme is inspired by the different games available on the AirConsole platform. Elements of video game controllers wrap around the i5, emphasising the i5's one-of-a-kind solution for in-car gaming with AirConsole, in which the smartphone serves as the controller, putting all game-play options at the players' fingertips.
