- Gallery: smart #1 Premium EV SUV Interior – Launching in Q4 2023
The smart #1 EV SUV recently made its public debut late last month. We’ve already talked about the exterior and interior details on this EV SUV, particularly in this up-specced Premium variant. However, we decided to give yet another look into this stunning interior design penned by the Mercedes-Benz design team.

The smart #1 cabin features minimalist Bauhaus design philosophy
Implementing the Bauhaus design philosophy of ‘less is more’, the smart #1’s minimalist cabin features a sleek T-shaped floating interior panel that is laced with the 64-colour dual-zone ambient lighting system. This floating design allows both the front dash and central console to sit higher, granting drivers and front passengers their own ‘cocoon’, with most of the essential equipment being kept at arm’s distance.

Crowning above this T-shaped element is the ‘floating’ central infotainment screen that measures 12.8-inch, featuring a smart navigation system with charging locations integrated into it. This hi-tech infotainment system is supplemented by the 13-speaker Beats premium audio system, with a total power output of 640 W and two selectable sound modes – Classic and Beats.

Back to the drivers, they’ll get a sleek-looking digital display that measures 9.2-inch, with a bigger 10-inch head-up display (HUD) supplementing it. The latter not only displays essential driving information like the current speed and ADAS warnings, but it is also integrated with the navigation system, allowing drivers to focus on the road instead of looking back and forth to the central screen for navigation.
Also helping drivers to focus is the leather-wrapped steering wheel that is laced with a slew of buttons and controls, where drivers essentially don’t have to put their hands away from the steering wheel to access certain functions.

Stunning design aside, the smart #1 cabin is also quite convenient, in spite of its rather compact size. The courtesy seat function for drivers allow the to enter and exit the #1 with ease, while power adjustments come standard for both front seats. For better passenger comfort, the rear seats are both reclinable and slidable back and forth, allowing for either more legroom or spacier boot space, depending on your preference.

On the topic of boot space, the #1’s 323-litre cargo space can be expanded to 411-litre, courtesy of the aforementioned sliding rear seats. This can be further expanded to 986-litre once you flat-fold the rear seats’ backrests down.

Topping-off the smart #1 Premium’s cabin equipment list is the extended panoramic sunroof that goes all the way back to the rear seats, allowing all passengers to enjoy the panoramic sky view, as well as for better cabin illumination overall.

The smart #1 EV SUV will be the first EV model sold by PRO-NET
The smart #1 EV SUV is slated to make its market entry later in Q4 this year, and it will be the first all-electric production model to be officially sold by PRO-NET – a new subsidiary of the national automaker Proton that focuses on new energy vehicles.
