Maserati Will Not Engage In Price War With Competitors - CEO

Maserati's goal is not to offer affordable cars, but to build the best cars possible, says CEO.
Interesting statements from Maserati's number one, managing director David Grasso. In an interview with Reuters, Trident automaker’s  CEO stated that his company will never compete in price wars with rivals for the sale of electric vehicles, as Tesla, Ford, and other automakers are doing.
Analysts and market experts are concerned that once the problem of a lack of semiconductors, which has significantly reduced global car production, is resolved, the major automakers will pursue a strategy similar to Tesla's, which has already reduced the prices of its vehicles on several occasions since the beginning of the year. image.png

This, however, will not be the case with Maserati. In fact, Grasso stated that the price of a car is a critical factor for any brand, but when it comes to luxury brands like Trident, the situation becomes even more delicate. In fact, the Italian brand will never focus on volume, so this type of strategy is pointless.
Grasso stated that Maserati's goal is not to offer affordable cars, but to build the best cars possible with the goal of creating a quality, prestigious, and well-made product that customers who choose to pay that price for buy it appreciate.

Finally, Grasso mentioned that Maserati's sales increased by 42 percent in the first half of 2023. This is due, in part, to the Grecale SUV and the sporty Gran Turismo. Grasso now wants to show, in the second half of 2023, that this is not an exceptional case and that the brand's growth is now unstoppable.
