Launched: 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic AMG Line CKD – RM378,888 Now
The second-gen (X254) Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic AMG Line is now locally assembled (CKD)!
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has inducted the second generation (X254) GLC crossover SUV into its local assembly (CKD) efforts. Like its predecessors, the model now rolls off the line from MBM’s assembly line in Pekan, Pahang.
As a quick recap, the second-gen luxury compact crossover offering from the three-point star debuted locally back in April this year solely in GLC 300 4Matic AMG Line guise priced at RM429,888 sans insurance.
Visually, the CKD version appears similar as the CBU version it replaces as it continues to feature the sporty AMG Line exterior treatment.

Introduced as a CBU initially back in April 2023, the new CKD version remains mechanically unchanged and features a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo MHEV powertrain that's peppier and more refined than before.
All-new from the ground up, the model also adopts a brand new mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrain package underneath its pretty metal. Similar to the latest and also localised W206-gen C-Class, it sees a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill paired with an integrated starter generator (ISG) to deliver 258 HP and 400 NM.
Said outputs drive all four wheels via a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic box and 4Matic all-wheel-drive (AWD) to allow 0-100 KM/H despatched in 6.2 seconds. Partial electrification also see this crossover sip as little as 7.3 litres/100 KM on average (WLTP).
Despite MBM’s claims of stellar initial sales reception, evident in the fact that it sold out its initial batch of pre-orders upon launch, there was no hiding the stiff premium the new-gen GLC commanded. However, this localised iteration has perhaps remedied that.
On board, the CKD version retains much of the luxurious and high tech features as seen in the CBU version.
Key highlights include the new interactive digital displays, crisp Burmester 3D audio system, rear passenger air-con vents, and more.
With CKD status, price has been slashed sizeably by RM51,000, and it sees the GLC 300 4Matic AMG Line now commanding a more ‘rational’ RM378,888 figure instead. Notably, this new CKD version bears a similar spec sheet as the fully imported (CBU) model it replaces, albeit with some changes.
A key new addition in the kit list now is a panoramic sliding sunroof, as well as an upgraded powered tailgate with foot-sensor activation, both of which was absent in the CBU iteration prior. However, the model’s semi-autonomous active driver assist (ADAS) package continues to see the absence of an intelligent or adaptive cruise control feature in this CKD version.
Orders can now be placed through authorised dealers, or via the new Mercedes-Benz Store online, the latter borne out of MBM’s recent switch to an agency retail model. Find out more about the second-gen GLC through our recent in-depth test-drive of it in CBU form by clicking these blue words…
