- MBSA Provides 10 Free EV Charging Stations In Shah Alam
The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has provided approximately ten free electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout the administrative area of the local authority, Bernama reported.
Charging stations can be found at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, Wisma MBSA, and MBSA branch offices, according to Shah Alam Mayor Dr Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid.
Nor Fuad stated that the collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology, and Water (KeTTHA) was a factor in the development of the 10 charging stations currently available at MBSA.
"Because the guidelines have just been released, we are streamlining it with the Town and Country Planning Department (PLANMalaysia) and the Transport Ministry. The Energy Commission (ST) will approve it for technical installations, he added.
MBSA is currently selecting appropriate locations in accordance with needs and demands, and that city centres and shopping malls in Shah Alam are among the locations that are being considered for the installation of additional charging stations.
For the record, the state government announced in July that it would install about 1,000 EV charging stations by the end of this year, primarily in Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Klang, Kajang, and Ampang Jaya.
Hee Loy Sian, a former state tourism and environment committee chairman, claimed that as of July, there were 102 EV charging stations spread across the state and that talks to add more such stations were ongoing.
