- Shah Alam’s Two-Hour Parking Limit Comes Into Full Force
The two-hour parking limit on 67 designated bays in five locations throughout the state capital here comes into effect.
According to the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), the enforcement is carried out in accordance with the Road Transport Order (Parking Space Allocation) MBSA (Amendment) 2023.
It also stated that the previous implementation, which began in September of last year, was intended to be a trial period.
“It (trial run) was aimed at educating and introducing the community to the new two-hour parking limit,” it said in a post on X.
The MBSA lists the following locations for the designated parking bays: Anggerik Vanilla N 31/N (Seksyen 31), Jalan Pahat F 15/F (Seksyen 15), Jalan Tengku Ampuan Zabedah D 9/D in Seksyen 9, Jalan Prima R U13/R and Jalan Prima F U13/F (Seksyen U13).
The enforcement of this charge, which applies from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will cost users of these bays RM1.20 per hour, up to a maximum of two hours.
There will be no appeals or compound reductions for parking space abuse offenses, including the usual RM10 flat rate for compound payments made within 24 hours.
Payments for two-hour parking can be made using a variety of mobile applications, including Smart Selangor Parking, Flexi Parking, GoPayy, Jom Parking, Touch n' Go eWallet, and Setel.
