It appears that BHPetrol Sungai Kayu Ara, which is ideally located less than 500 metres from the Damansara Toll Entrance to NKVE, has recently undergone a significant renovation with regard to its EV charging infrastructure.

According to Plugshare, this facility’s previous setup consists of a non-networked Hager EVSE 1 x 22 kW AC T2 socket Plug in and charge and a 1 x 5 pin Red CEE socket 3P 32A (22 kW max).

However those dated chargers are now gone thanks to the folks at JomCharge who had completed the installation of a single-gun Kempower DCFC and a 22kW AC charging unit. Based on our visit to the site, it would seem that both the DCFC and AC chargers are still not live for the time being but all cordoning barriers have been removed indicating its go-live date could be near.

On closer inspection, we too identified that the JomCharge Kempower DCFC would be of the 200kW kind meaning BHPetrol Sungai Kayu Ara would surely be a hot charging destination especially for those heading out of state.

In addition, this would be among the quickest DCFCs in the Bandar Utama area, with the closest high-speed charger being found at X-Park Sunway Serene, home to Gentari x JomCharge's 350kW DCFC.  Nevertheless, for the time being we are still unable to verify the charging rates that would apply and whether it would be based on kWh or minutes.

When the facility is operational, visitors may also enjoy light refreshments while their car is charging at the BHPetromart, which has establishments like Gloria Jean's Coffee and ChaTime with ample seating areas. Alternatively, they can just run across the road to pick-up some freshly baked pastries from the Shell Select stores.
