Now available in Malaysia is the limited-run MINI Clubman Final Edition run-out special.

MINI Malaysia (BMW Group Malaysia) announced the availability of the 2023 MINI Clubman Final Edition run-out special locally.

Revealed globally earlier this year, just 1,969 units based on the current and outgoing second generation (chassis code F54) model have been planned worldwide, with said figure referring to the year when MINI’s original long-roofed and barn-doored estate model debuted. From which, just 20 units of have been allocated for Malaysia.

This special celebrates the heritage of the original long-roofed and - uniquely - barn-doored estate variant that first debuted back in 1969.

Setting itself apart from the regular Clubman model, this run-out special sports a more distinct front bumper and grille combination, Shimmer Copper exterior trims, high-gloss side scuttles in the front fender plus Piano Black accents, and a ‘1 of 1,969’ badge denoting its limited-run status.

Said exterior treatment gets matched with a cabin dressed in special velour floor mats with the ‘1 if 1,969’ badge, ‘Final Edition’ steering wheel emblem and lasered rivets treated in either Shimmer Copper or Enigmatic Black, as well as seats wrapped in pique fabric and contrast stitching.

Special 'Final Edition' and '1 of 1,969' badges and emblems help set this final-run special apart from the regular Clubman model.

As for kit, the MINI Clubman Final Edition is primed with a familiar 8.8inch infotainment display that offers navigation, Apple CarPlay and Digital Dashboard functions, along with a Harman Kardon Surround Sound audio suite, and the combination of Comfort Access, Reverse Camera, and Parking Assistant with Front Park Distance Control.

Mechanically, this swansong for the Clubman harnesses the familiar and peppy 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo heart and 7-speed DCT automatic combination seen in the Cooper S variant. Its total outputs of 192 HP and 280 NM driving the front wheels sees 0-100 KM/H sprints despatched in just 7.2 seconds and a V-max of 226 KM/H too.

Just 20 units from a global run of 1,969 units have been allocated locally, each tagged at RM318,888.

As noted, just 20 units of this run-out special will be up for grabs in either Nanuq White, Melting Silver III or Enigmatic Black paint scheme options, each tagged at RM318,888 sans insurance. Said price includes MINI Malaysia’s usual 4-year, unlimited mileage warranty and free service package.

With no direct replacement in sight, this might be the last long-roofed, estate-bodied flavour of the stylish and iconic British hatch to go on sale, and this run-out special edition’s added rarity arguably makes it just that bit more special…
