- Over 5,800 Complaints On MYJalan, 1,203 Solved
As of December 6, the Works Ministry (KKR) had resolved 1,203 of the 5,836 complaints received via the MYJalan app, Bernama reported.
According to its minister, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, of the 1,532 complaints received on MyJalan, which was launched on August 24, 1,532 involved KKR-supervised roads, while 4,304 were under the jurisdiction of other authorities.
Roads with potholes received the most complaints (523), followed by damaged roads and streetlights (289 each), traffic lights (161), road markings (96), obstruction (77), signage (34), public facilities (31), street furniture (22), and landslides (10), according to the minister.
The data collected through MYJalan will not only assist the ministry in making analyses, comparisons, and decisions, but will also serve as the master data in analyzing damage and improving road conditions across the country.
Nanta added that the data will also help the ministry, state governments, and local governments plan, including applying for Finance Ministry road maintenance allocations.
Apart from providing a platform for motorists to lodge complaints in the event of road damage, the MYJalan campaign serves as an advocacy platform for all, including stakeholders, users, and highway industry players.
