BMW Group Malaysia has finally announced the price for the facelifted BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport CKD

Following its initial preview earlier this month, BMW Group Malaysia has finally announced the official pricing for the face-lifted BMW X5 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV. Arriving in a single xDrive50e M Sport variant, this updated luxury SUV offering is also locally-assembled (CKD) at BMW Malaysia’s Kulim production facility.

Based on the fourth-gen X5 model (codenamed G05), this facelifted X5 gets some minor cosmetic upgrades inside out, aside from being offered standard with the M Sport package. Key design upgrades include slimmer LED headlights with X-shaped DRLs, BMW Iconic Glow LED surrounding its kidney front grille, a sporty M Sport body kit, reworked LED taillights, and new 21-inch M light alloy V-spoke design 915 M Bi-colour wheels.

Aside from those, the new X5 now comes in four exterior colour options – Black Sapphire, Manhattan Green, Mineral White, and Skyscraper Grey.

On board, the updated X5 is now primed with more modern equipment, aside from two Merino leather upholstery options – Black and Tartufo. Key creature comforts included here are a new 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display, a new ambient lighting system, a Harman Kardon premium surround sound system, and many more.

The BMW X5 is offered for the first time in the xDrive50e variant, featuring a peppier PHEV powertrain setup

By far the biggest improvement for the facelifted X5 lies in its powertrain option, as this PHEV SUV is being offered for the first time in the peppier xDrive50e variant. Harnessing the same 3.0-litre straight-six petrol mill that is paired with an electric motor, this new setup boasts a higher total system output of 489 HP and 700 NM – allowing this mid-size SUV to finish a century sprint in just 4.8 seconds.

Furthermore, its PHEV setup has also been improved, with the facelifted X5 now getting an extended 110 KM EV-only range out of its 25.7-kWh battery pack. Now supporting 7.4 kW AC charging, said battery can be juiced from 0 to 100% SOC in just 4.5 hours.

On the safety front, the update treatment sees the new X5 gain several new features. Previously offered as options, features like BMW Comfort Access, Driving Assistant Professional, and Parking Assistant Professional are now available as standard on the facelifted X5.

Locally-assembled in Kulim, Kedah, the facelifted BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport CKD is now on sale starting from RM486,800 OTR

The all-new BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport CKD is now available for purchase at RM486,800 on the road—a RM30,180 increase over the pre-facelift X5 xDrive45e M Sport CKD model. Said price is inclusive of BMW Group Malaysia’s Premium Ownership experience, which includes both the BMW Roadside Assistance & Accident Hotline and BMW Service Online packages.

Aside from the standard 2-year unlimited mileage warranty offered, customers can also opt for the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive package. For an additional RM41,300, customers will get a 5-Year Extended Warranty and Service Package with an unlimited mileage cap.
