- Nissan Almera Gains New Kuro (Black) Edition Trim
ETCM kicks off 2024 with a yet another new enhancements package for the Almera sedan called the Kuro (Black) Edition.
Nissan assemblers and distributors Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) is kicking off the new year by sprucing up its staple Nissan Almera B-segment sedan offering yet again. For the 2024 model year, said compact four-door saloon for Malaysia is now available in a new Kuro (Black) Edition guise.
In Kuro (Black) Edition form, the Almera’s aesthetics is enhanced with a trendy new Glacier Grey hue. It also gets a bevy of factory-fitted exterior enhancements through the added Kuro Package featuring gloss black front grille cladding and black-finished alloy wheels across all variants.
As standard, the added Kuro Package spruces up the Almera with black front grille cladding, the familiar Tomei aerokit finished in gloss black, and a new 'Glacier Grey' paintjob.

Other exterior additions include door handle protectors and door visors.
Take note that for the Almera 1.0 VLT variant specifically, the Kuro Package treatment sees it roll on 16-inch dual-tone wheels featuring gloss black and polished finishing. As for the VL and VLP guises, these instead roll on single-tone 15-inch black-treated wheels.
ETCM notes that the Kuro Package also adds the familiar Tomei aerokit featuring gloss black-treated front splitter, rear apron, side skirts, and bootlid spoiler. A larger Tomei GT wing and 16-inch Impul Aura alloy wheels are available as a cost-option add-on through the Kuro GT Package.
Available through the Kuro GT Package exclusive add-on are 16-inch Impul Aura wheels (left) and a larger Tomei GT Wing (right).
Also part of the Kuro package are shiner new sport pedals plus door sill kicking plates.
On board, the Kuro Package furnishes the Almera’s cabin with shiny sports pedals set, door sill kick plates, door handle protectors, window visors, as well as ICE Cool Tinting Film. Apart from these aesthetics additions, there are no mechanical changes to report.
The added Kuro Package treatment is valued at RM8,000. The Kuro GT Package, on the other hand, is valued at an additional RM3,200 on top of which instead.
A special launch promotion sees the Kuro Package, worth RM8,000, available as a RM1,000 add-on. The optional Kuro GT Package, worth RM3,200, costs and additional RM500 and is limited to 300 sets.
As usual, ETCM has prepared a special launch promotion for customers opting for the Almera Kuro (Black) Edition. This sees the Kuro Package costing just RM1,000 on top of each variant’s respective RM83,888 (VL), RM89,888 (VLP), and RM95,888 (VLP) asking prices.
As for the optional Kuro GT Package’s added wing and wheels, these will cost a further RM500 and is offered as an exclusive add-on for the Kuro Package in the VLP and VLT variants only. This add-on is also limited to just 300 sets only.

Despite this latest optional package’s debut, it’s worth noting that Nissan already has a properly face-lifted version of the second-gen Almera on sale in other overseas markets. It remains uncertain how long more ETCM plans to sell the Almera in its current pre-facelift form locally.
What do you reckon folks? Is it high time for ETCM to bring out the face-lifted version of the Almera mentioned? As usual, share your thoughts in the comments section below, and our social media pages...
