- Rolls Royce Delivered A Record 6,032 Vehicles Globally In 2023
Rolls-Royce achieved record sales last year, delivering 6,032 vehicles worldwide in 2023, the most since its inception 119 years ago. Rolls-Royce, which joined the BMW Group in 1998, manufactures its models in Goodwood, southern England.
The United States emerged as the primary market for English luxury brands, followed by China. The most popular model, as you might expect, was the Cullinan SUV. The Ghost sedan, the smaller of the two Rolls-Royce sedans, finished second.
The Spectre sedan, the brand's first electric vehicle, also made its debut at Rolls-Royce in 2023. The Wraith and Dawn versions are being discontinued, and the new EV basically replaces them.
Rolls-Royce did not reveal how many units it has delivered, but did state that there has been "enormous" customer interest in the battery-powered super coupé, particularly among younger drivers (a demographic not typically associated with the brand).
It claimed that orders for its latest model would extend until 2025, despite the fact that its range was revealed to be a rather pedestrian 291 miles. Former CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös stated that the brand was increasing production of the vehicle to meet demand.
The carmaker has also recently focused on its Bespoke division, which generates higher profit margins for the company. It provides extra special options, such as distinctive paintwork, accents, or even exclusive interior fragrances, so that buyers can further customize their new car.
The brand's Managing Director, Chris Brownridge, stated that: “It’s especially encouraging to see the enormous interest in and demand for Spectre, supporting the decision to adopt a bold, all-electric strategy for future model development and production. The record level of Bespoke commissions, both by volume and value, also underlines our position within the luxury sector.”
