BMW Group Asia has achieved a new sales record for the regional market in 2023.

The success of BMW Group Malaysia’s 2023 sales appears to have a positive impact on the group’s regional sales volume, as BMW Group Asia recently charted a new record-breaking feat last year.

Both the BMW and MINI BEVs recorded the highest increase in sales volume

In this sales region, the group saw an increase in sales volume across all main brands, with both BMW and MINI electric vehicles (BEVs) charting the highest year-to-year growth figures of 257% and 174%, respectively. This is followed by the BMW M models, which saw a healthy sales increase of 85% in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, sales for BMW luxury models have increased by 21%, while the rest of the marque’s lineup saw an 18% increase last year.

While BMW Group Malaysia charted positive sales growth last year, such a figure is pale in comparison with the growth on other regional markets

Of all the key regional markets, both Vietnam and Indonesia recorded the biggest growth in their sales volume last year, racking up to 50% and 38% growth, respectively. As for our local market, BMW Group Malaysia has charted a positive growth of 3.8% in its vehicle deliveries last year, with BEVs leading the sales chart all the way.

Additionally, the BMW Group also saw positive growth for the Singaporean market, where the brand is ranked the second best-selling premium brand in the island republic , with an increase of 2.1% segment share year-on-year to 31.5%.

Commenting on this momentous occasion, BMW Group Asia MD Lars Nielsen said, “The demand for BMW and MINI in Southeast Asia is growing at a fast pace, and we are delighted to see such amazing numbers in 2023.”

“With Vietnam and Indonesia achieving 50% and 38% growth in BMW sales year-on-year, respectively, we are confident that we will continue to expand our growing footprint in the region,” the boss added.

Besides several key ASEAN markets like Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, BMW Group Asia also oversees other Asian markets in both Central and East Asia regions like Bangladesh, Guam, Nepal, New Caledonia, Sri Lanka, and Tahiti.
