Launched: 2024 Mercedes-Benz C350e PHEV – CKD, RM355K Est. Price
MBM has expanded the W206-gen C-Class lineup by launching the new Mercedes-Benz C350e CKD PHEV.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has expanded its W206-gen C-Class lineup by launching the new Mercedes-Benz C350e. Similar to both the C200 Avantgarde Line and the C300 AMG Line, this new top-specced variant is also being locally-assembled (CKD) at MBM’s production facility in Pekan, Pahang.
The C350e gets a new plug-in hybrid powertrain setup comprising a familiar four-pot turbocharged mill
As its moniker suggests, the C350e carries a PHEV powertrain setup comprising a familiar 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill rated at 201 HP (150 kW) and 320 NM, which is then mated to an electric motor setup rated at 127 HP (95 kW) and 440 NM.
Combined, the whole system delivers 308 HP (230 kW) and 550 NM to the rear wheels (RWD) via a nine-speed 9G-Tronic gearbox, allowing this sedan to blast from nought to 100 KM/H in just 6.1 seconds, en route to its capped V-max at 245 KM/H. Meanwhile, its EV-only top speed is only capped at 140 KM/H.
Juicing said electric motor is a sizable 25.4-kWh battery pack, which grants the C350e 117 KM of EV-only range on the stricter WLTP standards. On the charging front, the C350e PHEV supports 11 kW AC charging, which fills up the battery pack in about two hours. Unfortunately, the 50 kW DCFC option is not available for the Malaysian-spec C350e.
Aside from both AC and DC charging, the C350e can also be charged via the regenerative braking system, which can recover up to 100 kW of energy, MBM claims.
The Malaysian-spec C350e comes standard in both the AMG Line and Night Package
For the Malaysian market, the new C350e comes standard with both the AMG Line and Night Package. On the exterior front, the C350e gains a stylish AMG Line body kit with the iconic Mercedes-Benz pattern grille with the star design in chrome, while riding on 18-inch AMG 5-spoke light alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the Night Package adds several high-gloss black accents to the car, including on the side mirror caps, window surround, and many more.
Besides the cosmetic bits, other standard exterior equipment present here includes the LED DIGITAL LIGHT headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, a panoramic sliding sunroof, and many more.
The AMG Line treatment continues as we get inside the C350e PHEV, as the cabin is laced with several metal trims and AMG-specific parts. Key highlights include the multifunctional sports steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, ARTICO man-made leather upholstery in both black and nappa hues, AMG floor mats, and a built-in ambient lighting system.
On the tech front, the new C350e comes with the latest MBUX infotainment suite, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 11.9-inch central infotainment display with a fingerprint scanner. Other tech bits present here include the wireless charging pad, a 360-degree camera view, as well as both the Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist on the safety front.
