UMW Toyota Motor Launches ‘Beyond Zero’ Expo Featuring BEVs, HEVs, and FCEVs

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) is hosting its 'beyond Zero' expo at Technology Park Malaysia from Feb 20 until Feb 28.


UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) is ramping up efforts to showcase its decarbonisation efforts locally. This week, the firm unveiled its ‘Beyond Zero’ initiative, which is a special zero-emissions vehicles and tech exposition held at Technology Park Malaysia from Feb 20 until Feb 28.

The event was officially opened earlier today by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), alongside other dignitaries and UMWT’s top management.

The 'Beyond Zero' expo was officially launched earlier today at Technology Park Malaysia by Minister of International Trade, Investment and Industry (MITI) YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Zafrul Aziz.


Various transformative initiatives showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices are being shown in this expo. Central to this too are a string of special vehicles, some seen in Malaysia for the first time.

These vehicles comprise of a good mix of both passenger and commercial types, and they also cover a variety of propulsion tech – petrol-electric hybrids (HEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), as well as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs).

... this radical one-off Toyota Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition special that's based off Toyota's latest award-winning fifth-gen signature hybrid model.


Amongst the vehicles set to be showcased here besides familiar models like the Corolla Cross 1.8 HEV and Innova Zenix2.0  HEV include the likes of the Hilux FCEV and Hilux Revo e BEV, the C+pod two-seat BEV, SORA Bus, Mirai FCEV, as well as the GranAce FCEV, amongst many others.

In its press release issued today, it also appears that UMWT will also have the one-off Toyota Prius 24h Le Mans Centennial GR Edition showcased at the ‘Beyond Zero’ expo. This will mark the latest award-winning fifth-generation signature Toyota hybrid model’s debut appearance in Malaysia.

Other vehicles making their debut appearances here besides both the Hilux Revo e and Hilux FCEV mentioned include the hybrid (HEV) variants of the fourth-generation Alphard and Vellfire luxury MPVs.

UMWT is also set to showcase a slew of accompanying hardware and tech, which will also include its hydrogen fuel cell stations and generators.


Also being showcased here are the accompanying tech and hardware for these vehicle types. Key amongst which are Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell stations and generators.

According to UMWT, ‘Beyond Zero’ is open to guests who wish to learn more about the Japanese automaker’s sustainability efforts and new tech, as well as test drive selected vehicles from which. Guests keen on attending only need to register online via this link: [BEYOND ZERO].
