- Brabus 930 S Super-PHEV Unveiled With 930 HP!
Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance pictured above. This performance-tuned version of the W223 S-Class already boasts a super-PHEV V8 powertrain outputting 791 HP and 900 NM.
For most, the Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance revealed last year that’s also coming to our shores next month has enough performance on hand to sate anyone’s need for speed.
However, for a select few, said super-limo’s super-PHEV V8 twin-turbo mill’s 791 HP output and 3.3-sec 0-100 KM/H sprint ability simply isn’t enough…
If the base version simply isn't fast enough, then you might want to consider this tuned version dubbed the Brabus 930 S.
That’s where renowned German tuners Brabus enters the picture, and their latest effort based on Mercedes-AMG’s take of the W223-gen super-PHEV luxury limo, dubbed the Brabus 930 S, cranks things all the way up to 11.
By fettling with the S63’s 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo mill, Brabus has extracted an additional 137 HP from said mill, which now outputs 740 HP on its own. Included in Brabus’ fettling mentioned is the employment of new turbochargers and an uprated exhaust to match.
Paired with the S63’s existing 190 HP rear axle e-motor, the total combined output from this super-PHEV has risen to a whopping 930 HP. Raised significantly too is the total combined torque, which has risen from an already manic 900 NM to a simply outrageous new 1,510 NM tune.
The 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo mill gains upgraded turbos and exhaust plus all-new electronic mapping for which. Altogether with its e-motor, this mill outputs a whopping 930 HP and 1,510 NM in the Brabus 930 S.
As a result, 0-100 KM/H sprint time has also improved from 3.3 seconds mentioned earlier to 3.2 seconds, though V-max is electronically-capped at 290 KM/H. What’s also amazing to note is the fact that Brabus offers a three-year or 100,000 KM warranty on the powertrain as well.
In typical Brabus fashion, the new Brabus 930 S sees its go-fast performance tuning matched with fittingly new and sportier exterior styling to match. Key to which is a full aerokit made largely from carbon fibre, plus a selection of 22-inch monoblock wheels.
Other tweaks include tuned suspension that enables a much lower ride height depending which drive mode is selected. Upgraded too are the tyres as said 22-inch wheels mentioned are fitted with 265/35ZR22 (front) and 295/30ZR22 (rear) profile rubbers too.
Besides the powertrain, Brabus also tuned the suspension to grant a lower ride height in selected drive modes. Also upgraded are the wheels and tyres, which sees 22-inch monoblock wheels wrapped in 265/35ZR22 (front) and 295/30ZR22 (rear) profile tyres.
On board, Brabus offers the choice between a standard black quilted leather or an exclusive blue leather and microfibre combination upholstery for the Brabus 930 S.
On board, Brabus arguably raised the luxury ambience by a few levels through the cabin’s new quilted leather upholstery. Brabus also shared that there’s an option to furnish the cabin with an exclusive light blue leather and microfiber upholstery instead.
Obviously, this much added performance, luxury, and tech doesn’t come cheap. In fact, the Brabus 930 S is reportedly tagged at a hefty figure of €405,000 – approx. RM2.082 million.
