Gentari Renewables has awarded Solarvest Energy a significant contract to install solar panels at over 300 Petronas stations across the country.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the country's commitment to the clean energy goal, while also recognising Solarvest's role as a key player in spearheading this energy transition dream.

The project, which is scheduled to begin in April 2024, includes the installation of over 5.4 MWp capacity solar panels across Petronas stations nationwide. The task is expected to be completed in 2027 and will offset approximately 5,035 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from the petrol stations yearly.

Davis Chong, Solarvest's Executive Director and Group CEO, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration and emphasised the importance of reducing emissions from oil and gas operations.

He further highlighted Southeast Asia's growing demand for renewable energy solutions, as well as Solarvest's ambition to expand its business beyond Malaysia via Gentari's global network.

Overall, this collaboration represents a significant step towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Malaysia.

One such collaboration was the Gentari Behrang Lay-by (Northbound) DCFC Station which was set up in partnership with PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS). This station utilises Electric Vehicles (EV) Fast Charging Modular and Portable Station with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) powered by solar panels.

Solarvest is no stranger towards establishing collaborations with businesses in the automotive space. Just last year its subsidiary, Powerbee, had entered into an agreement with Lee Motors Auto Care, a leading BMW brand representative.

Based on this agreement, Powerbee would provide new BMW Electric Vehicle (EV) buyers with complimentary solar energy solutions to enhance their luxury EV ownership experience while advancing environmental sustainability.

Solarvest Holdings Berhad has also stated its intention to convert its corporate car fleet to electric vehicles, paving the way for other organisations to deploy clean energy solutions in a more responsible and sustainable manner.
